    SUNY Reconnect Attestation Form 2026-2027

    SUNY Reconnect Attestation Form

SUNY Reconnect is SUNY's free community college program for New York adults ages 25 to 55. Through the New York State Opportunity Promise scholarship, SUNY Reconnect provides free associate degrees in high-demand fields.

The program covers the cost of tuition, fees, books, and supplies after other forms of financial aid, such as New York State Tuition Assistance Program (TAP)/New York State DREAM Act (if eligible based on immigration status), and the federal Pell grant, are applied.

Here are some key details you should know about the SUNY Reconnect program at RCC. Please check:

    1.      Enrollment: Enroll in at least 6 credits per semester in an eligible degree. Only required courses count. You may attend full- or part-time but must complete your degree within 10 semesters.

    2.      Prior Degree: You must not hold any prior degree from any institution (including foreign equivalents)

    3.      Breaks in Enrollment: You may take up to one academic year off without losing eligibility. Longer breaks result in ineligibility unless approved for extenuating circumstances (e.g., military or medical)

    4.      Academic Standing: Maintain good academic standing and meet all program requirements to remain eligible.

    5.      Eligible Degree Programs: Eligible RCC associate degrees include Automotive Technology, Cyber Security, Engineering Science, Environmental Science, Healthcare Science, Information Technology, Liberal Arts & Sciences (Early Childhood, Childhood, or Adolescence Education), Math & Computer Science, Nursing, Occupational Therapy Assistance, and the 24-Credit Program (in the above programs). Programs are subject to change.

    6.      Major Requirements: You must remain in an eligible program. Changing to a non-eligible program will result in loss of funding.

    7.      Financial Aid Forms: Complete the 2026-2027 FAFSA and TAP applications, NYS DREAM Act (if eligible), regardless of expected aid. Contact Financial Aid at financialaid@sunyrockland.edu or (845) 574-4282 with questions.

    8.      Testing (if applicable): Students with foreign or non-NYS-recognized high school credentials must pass the ATB (Accuplacer): Reading 223, Writing 235, Arithmetic 230. Contact Placement and Testing at (845) 574-4288/4555 for assistance.

    9.      High School/GED Documentation: Submit official high school/GED diploma or transcripts to Admissions at admissions@sunyrockland.edu or in-person in Tech Building, Room 8141, unless enrolled in the 24-credit program.

    10.    College Transcripts: Submit official transcripts from any prior college to Admissions.

    11.    Certificate of Residency: Non-Rockland County residents must submit a new certificate annually to avoid out-of-state tuition charges. Contact Student Accounts at studentaccounts@sunyrockland.edu or (845) 574-4254.

    12.    Attestation: You must certify that all information provided is accurate and that you understand SUNY Reconnect requirements. Eligibility will be verified, and falsification may result in disciplinary action. Contact reconnect@suyrockland.edu with question.
